Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated: 5 June 2026

Right now, the retailer links on this site are ordinary links and we earn nothing from them. In future we may add affiliate links, which would pay us a small commission at no cost to you. It would never change what we recommend. Here is the honest version.

What affiliate links are

An affiliate link is a special URL that tells a retailer we sent you. If you click one and buy something, the retailer pays us a small percentage of the sale, typically between 3% and 10%. The price you pay is exactly the same as if you had visited the retailer directly.

Our current status

We are not currently part of any affiliate programme. The retailer links you see on this site are ordinary links that earn us nothing. We are working towards partnerships with trusted UK motorcycle gear retailers, and when that goes live those links will become affiliate links and we will update this page. We deliberately avoid grey-market and unverified overseas sellers.

How it affects our recommendations

It does not, and it will not. Our recommendations are built on real-world gear performance: protection ratings, fit, weather resistance, comfort on long rides, and value for money, plus genuine community feedback. Not commission rates.

Specifically:

If we ever have a commercial arrangement that could influence a specific recommendation, a sponsored post for example, we will label it clearly as such. We have no such arrangements at the time of writing.

How we are labelled

Affiliate links on BikerLifeHQ are disclosed in line with the UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) guidance. You will see disclosure notices:

Why we do it this way

Running a site like this costs money: hosting, domains, tools, and the time to test gear properly. Affiliate commissions pay for that, so we do not have to sell banner ads, pop-ups, sponsored "best of" lists, or your data. That is a trade-off we think is fair to both sides: you get honest, independent advice, and we get a way to sustain it.

Questions

If you ever think a recommendation looks commercially suspicious, or want to understand why a particular piece of gear is on our list, email [email protected]. We will explain.
